On Sunday 4th December, Support though Sport UK's Claire headed to Coventry to cover the Vitality International Series England vs Jamaica netball match. The series comprised three matches between the two teams and the Coventry match was the last of the three. And, with the series score tied at one game each, there was all to play for in this nail-biting finale.

The match was fierce; both sides attacking in a very determined and forceful manner, allowing nothing to slip through. The England team were strong, pushing their opponents hard and attempting to control play. The Jamaicans were equally strong, however, and their solid tactics and strong play gave them an eight goal lead by the end of the first half and England appeared to be sinking.

England's half-time chat must have been quite something, however, as, in the third quarter, which featured some of the most exciting netball I have ever had the pleasure of watching, England managed to level the score, 46-46.

In a nail-biting, fast-paced finish, the Jamaicans had the edge and the England side just couldn’t keep up. The final score was 57-64 to Jamiaca, and thus the Jamaicans also won the series.

Ama Agbeze was named England Player of the Series and Jamaica’s Jhaniele Fowler-Reid was named the overall Player of the Series, thanks to her impeccable shooting.
